Welcome to our blog, English department!!!
I am hoping that we can use this additional tool in our newest quest for excellence. No, we are not going to be blogging during class time, but we can blog before and after school, on weekends, etc. This can be a tool to help us with collaboration and sharing ideas.
I know our blog will be the most eloquent... we are the English Department. :)

ReplyDeleteWith the need for depth of thought in our curriculum studies, and that thought to be proven in writing, I am hoping the English Department will lead the way in training teachers of all areas to better deal with the reading of student writing as well as the grading. Matt Buckley shared a rubric with me a few weeks ago. I'm hoping that will be shared within your department and that you will share the use of that with colleagues. While the AIMS Writing, is not used for AYP, the need for thoughtful writing will be critical for all students in our college readiness culture.
